Subscriptions and purchases
What do I get for free?
Brown noise, with unlimited playback and no time limit. The sleep timer works on the free plan too, up to a full eight hours, as does background and lock-screen playback. No account is required. A subscription unlocks the other three noise colours (pink, white, green), all seven nature beds, and the ability to layer up to five sounds at once in the Mixer.
What does it cost?
Yearly is $19.99 with a 7-day free trial. Monthly is $6.99, weekly is $2.99, and a one-time Lifetime purchase is $39.99. Prices may differ by region.
I subscribed but the sounds are still locked
Open the You tab and tap Restore purchases. Before contacting support, check that you're signed in with the same Apple ID you made the purchase with — purchases belong to the Apple ID, not the device, so this is the most common cause. If the sounds are still locked after restoring, email support and mention roughly when you purchased.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID, not inside the app. On your iPhone: open Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, then select Brown Noise Free and choose Cancel. If you cancel during the free trial, you keep access until the trial ends and are not charged.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by the developer. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple ID that made the purchase.
Playback
Audio stops when I lock my phone
It shouldn't — playback is designed to continue when the screen locks or you switch apps. If it stops, force-close the app (swipe up from the bottom and flick the app away) and reopen it. If it keeps happening, email support with your iPhone model and iOS version.
I can't hear anything
Check that your ringer isn't the only thing turned up — use the volume buttons while a sound is playing so you're adjusting media volume. The app is designed to play even when the silent switch is on. Also check that the sound is unmuted in the Mixer (the speaker icon next to it).
Is there a gap when the sound loops?
There shouldn't be. Every sound is a phase-matched loop played through a native audio engine specifically so the repeat is inaudible. If you can hear a click or gap, that's a bug worth reporting — please email and say which sound it was.
Does it use a lot of battery overnight?
Audio playback is one of the lighter background tasks on iOS, and the app does no network activity while playing. An overnight session uses a modest amount of battery, but plugging in is still the safer habit.
Other
Is my data collected?
There are no accounts and no server. The name you can set on the You screen, your listening time and your preferences all stay on your device. Crash reports and purchase validation are handled by Sentry and RevenueCat respectively. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Is this a medical or therapeutic product?
No. Brown Noise Free is for relaxation, sleep and focus. It is not a medical device and makes no therapeutic claims. If you have ongoing trouble sleeping, please talk to a doctor.
Can I request a sound?
Yes — email pgreenwood333@gmail.com with what you'd like to hear. Requests genuinely do shape what gets added.
